We are proud to announce that our team brought home the “cup” (and 5000€) from last week’s #Redihack hackathon. REDI will be a modern high-rise apartment building and shopping complex in Kalasatama, Helsinki.
To help make REDI a truly unique shopping and living experience 12 startups were invited to join the hackathon to develop services and innovative solutions for future tenants, businesses and customers.During the hackathon our team developed an intelligent service agent that resides in messaging platforms, such as Facebook Messenger. Using this agent, future residents will be able to order services from the shopping center or command the devices integrated within the complex. Talking with this “digital resident” you are able to order a coffee by the time you get downstairs, set your thermostat away from home, or order an elevator – among many other potential use-cases.
At the end of the five-day hackathon startups pitched their ideas in front of an audience consisting of investors and top professionals from various industries and a jury consisting of top business professionals, investors and public sector decision makers. The concepts showcased could also be applied in other shopping and residential centers, already completed or under development.
Opening in 2018, we hope to see our digital agent deployed live at Redi so you can see it in action by simply adding a new friend on the messenger of your choice – no app installs required on your smartphone.
